We’ve developed Enigma Recovery to retrieve and recover as much deleted data from Apple devices and iTunes back-ups
as possible.
Our current retrieval rate is over 94% successful.
While we can’t guarantee 100% recovery, we can guarantee that our free version will show you a selection of
messages, call history, photos and notes, that can then be retrieved from your Apple device or iTunes back-up with
the full version.
Download our free version today or contact [email protected] if you have any further questions or
concerns. We’re here for you so you never have to worry about lost, hidden or deleted data again.
Do I need to jailbreak my iOS device?
No. You will not need to jailbreak your phone to use our software.
You don’t have to worry about our software jailbreaking your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch either.
Our software works by making a copy of your smartphone’s database that we then use to rebuild and extract your
deleted and ‘lost’ data.
This advanced database methodology 100% guarantees that when you use Enigma Recovery there is no damage to your
iPhone or iPad or to any of your much-needed data.
If you have any further questions or concerns please contact our support team at [email protected]. We’re here for you so you never have to
worry about lost, hidden or deleted data again.
Do I need to have the PIN or password for my iPhone or iPad?
If you are recovering data from your Apple device and have never synced your device with your computer, you will
need to have your PIN/password to hand before you start using Enigma Recovery.
Enigma Recovery can recover your deleted data directly from the iOS device, if the device has been synced to iTunes
on a previous occasion. In this instance, the device will be recognised by the PC.
When you connect your Apple device to your computer you will need to ensure it is unlocked before you start our
software.
If you have any further security questions or concerns please contact our support team at [email protected]. We’re here for you so you never have to
worry about lost, hidden or deleted data again.
Can I recover deleted data from an iOS device that has been restored to factory settings?
Unfortunately, our software is not compatible with iOS devices that have been restored to factory settings and will
not be able to recover data from such devices.
However, if you have restored your device and need to recover data, you can do so from an iTunes backup file if you
have one available.
If you’re still unsure if our software will be compatible with your data recovery needs, please contact our support
team at [email protected]. We’re here for you so you
never have to worry about lost, hidden or deleted data again.
Do I need to have my iOS device to retrieve data?
Yes, to recover deleted data from your smartphone you will need to have your iOS device to hand.
However you can also recover data without your device ‘ if your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch has been damaged, stolen
or lost you can still recover SMS, iMessages, WhatsApp, Call History, photos and videos, as well as calendar entries
and notes using your iTunes back-up, if you have one available.
View our support article on recovering data using your iTunes backup or contact [email protected] with any questions or concerns. We’re
here for you so you never have to worry about lost, hidden or deleted data again.
What is the difference between deleted data and lost data?
Deleted data is quite straightforward, this is data such as:
- Messages (Including SMS, iMessages and WhatsApp chat)
- Your Contacts
- Your Call history
- Notes and calendar entries
- Messages (Including SMS, iMessages and WhatsApp chat)
- Your Contacts
- Your Call history
- Notes and calendar entries
- Internet History
- Photos and videos
Why can you only recover some data and retrieve other data?
We’ve developed Enigma Recovery to be as advanced as possible and we are continually working to progress our
software to recover and retrieve as much of your much-needed deleted or lost data as possible.
Due to the way Apple devices are configured, some data is stored in the very root folder of the iPhone or iPad. This
means once they are deleted from your Apple device they can only be accessed if you jailbreak your iPhone or iPad.
This is why we can only recover certain data directly from your Apple device.
If you have an iTunes back-up, Enigma Recovery can also recover photos and videos, as well as Messages (including
SMS, iMessages and WhatsApp), Contacts, Call History, Calendar Entries, Internet History and Notes. You can then
recover your deleted and lost data without the need for your Apple device. This can then be exported to a CSV, Excel
or XML which is very handy if your device is stolen or damaged.
iOS devices that have been used for a longer period of time will also be able to have more data retrieved or
recovered than those that are brand new.
If you have any further questions or concerns on using Enigma Recovery to recover and retrieve from your Apple
device contact us at [email protected], we’re here for
you.
Is your software safe to use?
Yes, our software is guaranteed 100% safe to use.
Enigma Recovery has been developed using the most advanced algorithms and database methodology to take a copy of the
database on your device.
Our software then uses this copy to rebuild the database on your device or in your iTunes back-up and begins to
extract the data within it. This way we can retrieve and recover your data without affecting any of the settings on
your Apple device or any of the content that is currently on your iPhone, iPad or iPod.
Before installing Enigma Recovery you might also want to look at the system
requirements for our software. Our support team are always on hand to answer any questions or concerns, simply
email them at [email protected] or submit a support
ticket.

Installing your software
How do I know if I have the latest version of Enigma Recovery?
Enigma Recovery is periodically updated to ensure that it is compatible with the latest iOS updates released by
Apple.
In any of our solutions (free or paid) you can find out if you have the latest version by clicking ‘Update’ from
within the Enigma Recovery.
The software will then connect with our databases and automatically download the latest version.
I am trying to activate the Enigma Recovery for iPhone (Windows), but keep receiving an error message saying I need Read/Write permission to proceed.
This can happen if there is an error in the installation of the Enigma Recovery software.
Please contact our support team by filling in a support ticket on our website, or by emailing [email protected] and our support team will help you
through this process to use your software.
Why am I receiving an error message saying that ‘iTunes is not installed on your system. Please install iTunes’ when I know iTunes is installed?
Enigma Recovery will display this message if you have either iTunes or our software installed without administrator
rights.
To make sure iTunes and Enigma Recovery run with the correct permissions:
- Uninstall and then reinstall iTunes
- Install the latest version of QuickTime Player
- Change the permissions on Enigma Recovery by:
- Right click on the shortcut icon of the software (you will usually find this on your desktop)
- Select Run as Administrator.
I am receiving an error message stating that I need to install .NET to my computer.
For Windows operating systems, Enigma Recovery needs a framework called .NET to be installed in order to run
properly.
This is free to install and download from Microsoft:
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=26
Please ensure that you have .Net 3.5 or higher installed on your PC.

Recovering and retrieving your data
Why is my Apple device showing as ‘device not connected’?
This can happen if your device is also not being recognised by your Mac or PC. If Enigma Recovery is showing this
error, either in the free version or in our full versions, please firstly try the following steps:
- Download and install (or reinstall) the latest version of iTunes and Quicktime
- Make sure your iPhone, iPad or iPod is fully charged
- Disconnect all other USB devices and try to connect using a different USB port
- If you are using iOS 7.1 or later on your device, please ensure that you have verified ‘Trust’ for your computer from your device.
- If you have a different USB cable available to connect your device to your Mac or PC, please try this.
- Make sure you’ve instructed Enigma Recovery to connect with your device. This is done when the software first launches. In the ‘Connect your storage unit’ section, hover over the device you’d like to synchronise with and select ‘Connect’.
- Turn your Apple device fully off and then back on again.
- Restart your computer and reconnect your Apple Device to your computer
Why is my iTunes backup file not showing?
When you first set-up iTunes it will ask you to choose a location to save this software to. By default this location
is usually set to the users section of the main drive, for example:
C:\\Users\John\AppData\Roaming\AppleComputer\MobileSync\Backup
Make sure that you have hidden files showing if you are looking for your iTunes backup in the default location.
Your backup file might not be showing if you have selected somewhere else to install iTunes, or if you save your
iTunes backup files to a different location than the default option.
If you can’t find your iTunes backup in the users section of your main drive you can try searching for the folder
AppleComputer which will allow you to find the location of your iTunes backup.
If you are still struggling to find your iTunes backup file you can contact our support team on [email protected] who will help you troubleshoot and find
your files. We’re here for you so you never have to worry about lost or deleted data again.
Why can’t I see the data that I know is deleted?
We’ve developed Enigma Recovery to retrieve and recover as much deleted data from Apple devices and iTunes backups
as possible.
Our current retrieval rate is over 94% successful.
Unfortunately we can’t guarantee 100% recovery. The iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch have a limited number of memory
locations that messages and other data can be saved in.
These memory locations will generally be full of ‘current’ data such as those messages still on your smartphone. If
you are only seeing some of your deleted data this is because the memory on the phone is full with other data or in
the case of messages your older data has been overwritten.
If this happens to you, unfortunately you will not be able to retrieve your data, or run Enigma Recovery again, to
get your data back.
We can, however, guarantee that our free version will show you a selection of messages, call history, photos and
notes that can be retrieved from your Apple device or iTunes backup with the full version of the Enigma Recovery.
If you are still struggling to recover the data you know you deleted please contact our support team on [email protected]. We’re here for you so you never have to
worry about lost or deleted data again.
Can I export the data I have retrieved and recovered?
Yes, you can indeed export your data. Enigma Recovery has been developed to allow you to export your recovered and
retrieved:
- Messages (Including SMS, iMessages and WhatsApp chat)
- Your Contacts
- Your Call history
- Notes and calendar entries
- How can I recover deleted iPhone messages?
- How can I recover deleted WhatsApp Messages on my iPhone?
- How can I recover my deleted iPhone calendar?
- How can I recover lost and deleted contacts from an iPhone?
- How can I recover my deleted call history on my iPhone?
- How can I recover deleted notes on my iPhone?
The Messages tab in the Enigma Recovery shows all the SMS that have been recovered but it does not show the contact and number?
Please click on each individual contact on the left side of the screen to see your SMS text messages seperately with
the numbers and contacts names associated with the messages.
If you’re still unsure how to find the contact details you need, please contact us at [email protected]. We’re here to help you retrieve and
recover your much-needed data.
How can I retrieve data from my encrypted (password protected) iTunes backup?
To retrieve your lost data from an encrypted (password protected) iTunes backup you will need to select the option
to retrieve from an iTunes backup within Enigma Recovery. You will then be prompted to select the file that you
would like to recover from.
The software will recognise that the encrypted iTunes backup is password protected and you will receive a prompt to
enter your password. While you will need to enter the correct password for Enigma Recovery to begin to retrieve your
data there is no limit to the amount of attempts you can enter a password in our software.
If you are unable to remember your password, Enigma Recovery will be unable to scan the file and retrieve your lost
data. However you can still retrieve and recover data using an unencrypted iTunes backup.
Our support team are available to answer your concerns and issues. Email [email protected] or submit a support ticket and we can
help you recover and retrieve your much-needed data.
I’ve forgotten my password for my encrypted iTunes backup. Can I still recover my data?
Your encryption password is the password you chose when setting up your iOS device in iTunes. If you have forgotten
your encryption password we recommend that you try some of your frequently used passwords to find the correct one as
you will not be penalised for incorrect entries.
Unfortunately you cannot recover data if you are unable to enter the correct encryption password to an encrypted
backup. However you can still retrieve and recover data using an unencrypted iTunes backup or your iOS Apple Device.

drive. Now select the option to retrieve from iTunes backup and click ‘Select backup’ to select your external hard
drive manually as the backup file location. The software will start to process your iTunes backup and extract your
