Find out how to restore Calendar events on iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch, so you can get your schedule back on track and avoid missing any important appointments. Whether events have disappeared or been deleted, we’ll explain how to get them back using iCloud, iTunes or our iOS data recovery software.
If the Calendar app has disappeared from your iPhone altogether, you’ll need to redownload it from the App Store. Simply follow this link on your device then click the cloud icon.
Method 1: Restore Calendar events without a backup
If you don’t have a suitable iTunes or iCloud backup, there’s no need to panic: you can recover Calendar events directly from your device using Enigma Recovery. Our software can scan your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch’s back-end database to retrieve lost and deleted Calendar files, ready for restoration.
Install Enigma Recovery
Download Enigma Recovery on your Mac or PC and follow the installation instructions. The free trial will allow you to preview recoverable Calendar events.
Connect your device
Connect your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch to the computer using a USB cable. Follow any onscreen instructions on your device.
Select ‘Calendar’ and scan
View your recovered events
Once the scan is complete, you can preview recovered events in the ‘Calendar’ tab. To view the full list, you’ll need the unlocked version of Enigma Recovery.
Export your Calendar events
If you’ve upgraded to the full version of Enigma Recovery, you can export your recovered Calendar events to your computer by going to ‘Export & Restore’ > ‘Export’.
Restore deleted events to your Calendar app
Download the Restore iOS app on your device, then plug it into your computer. Open the full version of Enigma Recovery > ‘Export & Restore’ > ‘Restore’ then select the files you’d like to transfer. Once complete, use the Restore app to restore events back to your Apple Calendar and rest easy knowing you haven’t missed anything important.
Method 2: Restore Calendar events from iCloud
You can restore Calendar data from iCloud by signing into iCloud.com, going to ‘Settings’ > ‘Restore Calendars and Reminders’, then clicking ‘Restore’ next to the backup file you’d like to reinstate. However, there are a few downsides to this process:
- Calendar and reminder sharing settings are erased.
- iCloud cancels then recreates upcoming events, and resends any invitations.
- Calendar events, reminders and amendments made since the last backup will be lost.
You can avoid these problems by recovering Calendar data from iCloud with Enigma Recovery software. This allows you to extract specific files from your iCloud backup, then restore them to your device without any overwriting.
Launch Enigma Recovery
Download Enigma Recovery for Windows or Mac, then follow the installation instructions. Once complete, open the software on your computer and select ‘Recover from my iCloud’.
Log in to iCloud
Log in to your iCloud account using two-factor authentication for extra security. Your Apple ID and password will remain safe as the software will not save them
Select the backup file
Select the iCloud backup that contains the Calendar data you need (in other words, the file created before they were lost or deleted).
Start the scan
View recovered data
After the scan, you can preview recovered data in the ‘Calendar’ tab. To view all recovered events, you’ll need to unlock the full version of Enigma Recovery.
Save or restore recovered data
On the full version of Enigma Recovery, you can use the ‘Export & Restore’ > ‘Restore’ function to transfer recovered Calendar files to the Restore app on a connected iOS device. Using the Restore app, you can then restore the data to the Calendar app. To export recovered data to your computer, use ‘Export & Restore’ > ‘Export’.
Method 3: Restore Calendar events from iTunes
If you have an iTunes backup containing the lost or deleted Calendar files, you can restore this to your device in order to get them back. See our full instructions on how to restore an iTunes backup.
Please note that the backup will replace all existing device data once restored. This means that you will lose settings and files created since the backup was taken. To avoid this problem, you can extract Calendar files from iTunes using Enigma Recovery, then restore them to your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch via our Restore app.
Launch Enigma Recovery
Download and install Enigma Recovery on your Mac or PC, then select ‘Recover from my iTunes’.
Scan for Calendar files
Select the iTunes backup you’d like to scan, using the date column to help you, then select ‘Calendar’ > ‘Start scan’.
View recovered files
After the scan is complete, you can view recovered event files in the ‘Calendar’ tab. You will need to upgrade to view all retrieved data.
Restore and export files
If you have the full version of Enigma Recovery, you can export or restore recovered files using the ‘Export & Restore’ menu. For security reasons, you will need to transfer your files to the Restore app before they can be restored to the Calendar app on your device.
Whether you restored an iTunes/iCloud backup or used our iOS data recovery software to get your deleted events back, your Calendar app should now be back in order. If not, get in touch with our team for some help.
The next step is to protect yourself for the future by backing up your device and reviewing your backup settings. Those of you who upgraded to the full version of Enigma Recovery can continue using the software to manage your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch data.
