iMessages are great for not only sending instant messages in text format, but also multimedia files such as voice notes, photos and videos. And being completely free of charge (when connected to Wi-Fi), they’ve quickly become the preferred method of text communication; especially when synchronised across a number of Apple devices – iPhones, iPads, iPods and even Mac computers.
But as we become more immersed in iMessages to remain socially connected, the impact of suddenly losing conversations – often containing personal information to the user – becomes very high. This can easily occur through accidental deletion, failed iOS upgrades or even a damaged iPad that can no longer be accessed.
The good news, however, is that with the use of Enigma Recovery, it is still possible to retrieve missing content from your iPad. This is because when a file is deleted, it is never permanently wiped from the device. Instead, the pieces of code – which construct the file – are stripped of their components and the file location is preserved for another file to take its place when required. Enigma Recovery works by scanning the memory of the iPad to find the missing file, and re-construct it into a readable format for the user.
You Will Need:
- A laptop or computer
- The most up-to-date version of iTunes
- The iPad device to recover from
- A compatible USB cable
- A free or paid version of Enigma Recovery installed
Follow these steps
Step 1 – Open Enigma Recovery
Open the software and select a device to recover from (iOS).
Step 2 – Connect iPad
Now connect your iPad to the computer, using your USB cable.
Step 3 – Trust Computer
Follow the instructions that appear to ‘Trust’ the computer with your device.
Step 4 – Scan device
Select the data type you are looking for (or Select all). Then click ‘Start scan’.
Step 5 – Scan Report
After the scan, the software will let you know how many existing and deleted files have been found. Click a data type to view your recovered items.
Step 6 – See deleted messages
The main screen will now display all the existing and deleted messages from your device. Deleted messages can be restored to your handset or exported to the computer in Excel, CSV or XML format.
Step 7 – Export messages
Select the messages you wish to save, click ‘Export’ and choose ‘Export selected data only’. Or to save all messages, select ‘Export’ and ‘Export current tab’.
