Uninstall Enigma Recovery Software

In some cases, you may need to uninstall Enigma Recovery desktop software from your computer, either if your license has expired or you need to reinstall the software.

Before uninstalling Enigma Recovery, we would recommend that you make sure that you have made copies of your scanned data, if you need to keep it. Uninstalling the software will also remove any saved scans that are saved locally on your computer.

Removing saved data

Once you have uninstalled Enigma Recovery, the components of the software will be removed from your computer.

Depending upon how you have used the software, there may be additional data that still remains on your computer – this will be the case if:

  1. You have exported data from the software via CSV, XLS, PDF or native media formats
    1. These files are copies of data that you have exported from the software after a scan of your device, saved locally to your computer
    2. To remove these files from your computer, browse to the location where you stored the files, select the required files and click ‘Delete’
    3. Your deleted files will be sent to your Recycling Bin, where you can delete them permanently
  2. You have used the iCloud Recovery option within the software
If you have used the software to recover deleted data from your iCloud backup file, a copy of your backup is created for safety and security reasons, which is then scanned for data. This data is stored locally on your computer only. To remove any copies of locally located iCloud backup files
    1. Visit the following location on your computer:
      C:\Users\(Username)\AppData\Local\Temp\EnigmaDigital
    2. Select the backup file(s) that you need to delete and click ‘Delete’
