If you have an important conversation on WhatsApp, you read an interesting article on your favourite news app or you achieve a new record on your running app, you may well want to capture the moment to save it on your gallery or share it with your friends and family.

Taking a screenshot is such a useful feature that you won’t be able to stop once you learn how to do it. Although there are some apps that disable the screenshot feature for privacy reasons, fortunately you will be able to take screenshots in most.

iPhone with Face ID

To take a screenshot using an iPhone with Face ID (from iPhone X to iPhone 12)*, follow these steps:

  1. Press the Volume Up button and the Side button at the same time and quickly release them. Then you will see how your screen is captured.

  2. A thumbnail will appear on the bottom left of your mobile phone. From here, you can take three actions.

    – Tap it to share. – Swipe left if you want to delete it. – If you take no action, it will automatically save after 5 seconds.

iPhone with Touch ID and Side button

To take a screenshot with iPhone 8, iPhone 7, iPhone SE or iPhone 6**, here’s what you need to do:

  1. Press the Home button and Side button at the same time. Quickly release them simultaneously.

  2. A thumbnail will appear on the bottom left of your mobile phone. From here, you can take three actions.

    – Tap it to share. – Swipe left if you want to delete it. – If you take no action, it will automatically save after 5 seconds.

iPhone with Touch ID and Top button

To take a screenshot with iPhone 5 or below you’ll need do the following:

  1. Press the Home button and the Top button at the same time. Quickly release them simultaneously.

  2. A thumbnail will appear on the bottom left of your mobile phone. From here, you can take three actions.

    – Tap it to share. – Swipe left if you want to delete it. – If you take no action, it will automatically save after 5 seconds.
