As product manager for Enigma you will champion the trial users and customers of Enigma products. You will lead teams to define, build, and optimise the product to become and remain world class. Day to day this ranges from researching market opportunities, to analysing competitors’ offerings, to developing the perfect roadmap to achieve business outcomes, to delivering world class customer experiences. You possess a unique blend of business and technical savvy, a big-picture vision, and the drive to make that vision a reality. You love talking to customers to understand their problems, and finding innovative solutions for the broader market.

Who we are

Enigma is an exciting software start-up but passed the traction phase and in the early growth phase, with significant investment from global venture capitalists. Our consumer-focused data recovery software, Enigma Recovery, has helped 1 million users from over 200 countries retrieve over 1 billion items of data from their iOS devices. This modern and prestigious office is located in the heart of Birmingham’s Jewellery quarter at number 30 St Pauls Square. Key results

  • Define and communicate an innovative, values-fitting product roadmap to deliver increasing amounts of intuitive value to users
  • Coordinate the design, engineering, and testing teams to deliver regular, timely, high performance product updates against the roadmap
  • Channel customer feedback into the product roadmap and work with the teams to deliver it
  • Evolving the product from traditional desktop software into new SAAS and mobile based solutions


  • Understand our market and competitors
  • Lead definition a product vision and strategy: quarterly, annual, 2020
  • Research, understand, and represent the voice of the customer through frequent interactions with trial users and customers
  • Line-managing design, customer support and testing teams, and work closely with engineering, marketing, sales and finance
  • Break down complex problems into steps that drive iterative product development
  • Be accountable for building and assessing performance of the right product features to support business objectives and deliver that must have experience to our customers
  • Developing the right processes for our product cycle, and ensuring we do the right thing
  • Serving as the internal and external evangelist for your product offering
  • Define, monitor and react to product metrics

Skills, traits and competencies

  • Strong data / analytics / testing: getting the right data and having the discipline to apply it in decision-making
  • Enough “product-sense” to ask the right questions
  • Excellent capability for working with software engineers and digital marketeer’s
  • 5+ years of software product management experience
  • Deep familiarity with iOS/Apple as an expert user
  • A passion for understanding users and their experiences with products
  • Comfort with modern product management practices such as user story mapping
  • Knowledge of user experience design and research practices is helpful
  • A passion for building great products and providing world class UX
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
  • Desire to work in a highly collaborative environment, with a strong sense of personal ownership
  • Experience with lean/agile development methodologies (Kanban, XP or Scrum)
  • Experience working with geographically-distributed teams
  • Working knowledge of tools like: Jira, Slack, Trello, Google Analytics, Mixpanel or similar analytics tools

Salary: £40k – £50k depending on experience and qualifications, (company bonus scheme & pension contributions)
