Importing your contacts from a CSV or XML file into your iPhone

While Smartphone Recovery Pro can’t directly help you return your deleted data back to your Apple device you can use the CSV or XML it exports to add back deleted contacts.

There are plenty of apps within the iTunes store that will help you to import from a CSV and XML file.

If you have Google Mail, Microsoft Outlook, or Yahoo Mail (amongst others) you can also use these to add your contacts back to your phone with a CSV file. If you access your chosen email provider online (we recommend using your computer to do this stage), you can import the CSV file and then:

  1. In iTunes click on your iPhone’s name
  2. Click the ‘Info’ tab
  3. Select ‘Sync Contacts With’ and select your chosen email provider
  4. Click Apply

Your iPhone will now alert you that your contacts have been imported.

Why is my Apple device showing as ‘device not connected’?

If Smartphone Recovery Pro is showing this error, either in the free version or in our full versions, please firstly try the following steps:

  1. Download and install (or reinstall) the latest version of iTunes and Quicktime
  2. Make sure your iPhone, iPad or iPod is fully charged
  3. Disconnect all other USB devices and try to connect using a different USB port
  4. If you are using iOS 7.1 or later on your device, please ensure that you have verified ‘Trust’ for your computer from your device.

These simple steps will hopefully help you to connect your device to Smartphone Recovery Pro. If you are still struggling to connect you can also try:

  1. Turn your Apple device fully off and then back on again.
  2. Restart your computer and reconnect your Apple Device to your computer

If you are still struggling to run Smartphone Recovery Pro you can contact our support team on support@enigma-recovery.com who will help you troubleshoot and connect your device. We’re here for you 24/7 so you never have to worry about lost or deleted data again.

Why is my iTunes back-up file not showing?

When you first set-up iTunes it will ask you to choose a location to save this software to. By default this location is usually set to the users section of the main drive, for example:

C:\\Users\John\AppData\Roaming\AppleComputer\MobileSync\Backup

Make sure that you have hidden files showing if you are looking for your iTunes back-up in the default location.

Your back-up file might not be showing if you have selected somewhere else to install iTunes, or if you save your iTunes back-up files to a different location than the default option.

If you can’t find your iTunes back-up in the users section of your main drive you can try searching for the folder AppleComputer which will allow you to find the location of your iTunes back-up.

If you are still struggling to find your iTunes back-up file you can contact our support team on support@enigma-recovery.com who will help you troubleshoot and find your files. We’re here for you 24/7 so you never have to worry about lost or deleted data again.

Unfortunately there are few apps that will enable you to re-import your notes back onto your Apple device.

For easy viewing of your notes, while on the move, we would recommend that you save the exported CSV file onto your iPhone. These files can be viewed easily on your Apple device so you can have the data you need when you need it.

We’d also recommend that you sync your iPhone on a regular basis, this will make sure there is an iTunes back-up so if the worst happens again, Smartphone Recovery Pro is on hand to help you get your data back.

Why can’t I see the data that I know is deleted?

We’ve developed Smartphone Recovery Pro to retrieve and recover as much deleted data from Apple devices and iTunes back-ups as possible.

Our current retrieval rate is over 94% successful.

Unfortunately we can’t guarantee 100% recovery due to the way Apple design their devices and operating systems. The iPhone, iPad and iPod have a limited number of memory locations that messages and other data can be saved in.

These memory locations will generally be full of ‘current’ data such as those messages still on your smartphone. If you are only seeing some of your deleted data this is because the memory on the phone is full with other data or in the case of messages your older data has been overwritten.

If this happens to you, unfortunately you will not be able to retrieve your data. As this is due to the way Apple designs its operating systems you will not be able to use a similar product, or run Smartphone Recovery Pro, to get your data back.

We can, however, guarantee that our free version will show you a selection of messages, call history, photos and notes, that can be retrieved from your Apple device or iTunes back-up.

If you are still struggling to recover the data you know you deleted please contact our support team on support@enigma-recovery.com. We’re here for you 24/7 so you never have to worry about lost or deleted data again.

Can I export the data I have retrieved and recovered?

Yes, you can indeed export your data. Smartphone Recovery Pro has been developed to allow you to export your recovered and retrieved:

  • Messages (Including SMS, iMessages and WhatsApp chat)
  • Your Contacts
  • Your Call history
  • Notes and calendar entries
  • Photos and videos

To a CSV or XML file. Photos and video files can be exported directly to your computer.

Transferring your data back to your Apple device

In the case of photo and video files it is easy to use iTunes to drag and drop these recovered files back to your iPhone, iPad or iPod.

We’ve written a short series of support guides that will help you to retrieve your data and then also provide advice on how to get this back onto your Apple device:

Our support team are on hand 24/7 to help you export the data that Smartphone Recovery Pro has retrieved and recovered. Contact us at support@enigma-recovery.com or submit a support ticket and we will be in touch shortly.

How can I retrieve data from my encrypted (password protected) iTunes back-up?

To retrieve your lost data from an encrypted (password protected) iTunes back-up you will need to select the option to retrieve from an iTunes back-up within SmartPhone Recovery Pro. You will then be prompted to select the file that you would like to recover from.

The software will recognise that the encrypted iTunes back-up is password protected and you will receive a prompt to enter your password. While you will need to enter the correct password for SmartPhone Recovery Pro to begin to retrieve your data there is no limit to the amount of attempts you can enter a password in our software.

If you are unable to remember your password, SmartPhone Recovery Pro will be unable to scan the file and retrieve your lost data. However you can still retrieve and recover data using an unencrypted iTunes back-up or your iOS Apple Device.

Our support team are available 24/7 to answer your concerns and issues. Email support@enigma-recovery.com or submit a support ticket and we can help you recover and retrieve your much-needed data.
